THE NEW ERA

On the back of the 1996 JLA: MIDSUMMER’S NIGHTMARE and KINGDOM COME by Mark Waid (FLASH, CAPTAIN AMERICA) a new Justice League was launched with force by DC Comics. This new League based on the original Silver Age roster is the first gathering together of his line up in current continuity and includes both first and second generation heroes.

In the current ongoing series by Grant Morrison (DOOM PATROL, ANIMAL MAN) titled simply JLA we are shown tales and events that happen above and beyond the normal DC Universe. Always pushing established continuity and elements in new and often mythic directions this is the rebirth of the superheroic ideal for a modern and critical readership.

Already we have seen two spin off mini-series (JLA: PARADISE LOST and JLA YEAR ONE) as well as the JLA SECRET FILES oneshot, planned are an Elseworlds tale (THE NAIL) and a spin off series preliminary titled JLA JUNIOR.
